THE GAGGLE OF REDS . . .

The original band, The Reds
™, was formed by Rick Shaffer and Bruce Cohen, in Philadelphia, PA in 1977, along with drummer, Tommy Geddes, and bass player, Jim Peters.

For unknown reasons, there are a few bands who were apparently unable to create a unique name, so they also call themselves, The Reds.  Tarock Music doesn’t understand the band, or especially their management’s, poor judgment and lack of research, but they must have thought it was a good idea to use a trademarked name, that obliterates their opportunity to establish their own brand, and places them in legal action jeopardy.

To help you decipher the difference between the bands, Tarock Music has provided a synopsis of the "Gaggle of Reds" below.

The Reds •
Little Rock, Arkansas — formed in 2007.  Band members: John McAteer – vocals, bass, writes the songs, and is called "Johnny Mac," Graham Cobb - guitar, backup vocals, and Jason Thompson - drums.  This band is similar to

The Reds • Vancouver, WA & Portland, OR — are a pop-rock band formed in 2005.  Band members: Joel Detter – vocals, rhythm guitar, Dustin Hoffman - lead guitar, Mike Ronfeld – drums, and Jeremiah Wagner – bass.  This band is similar to

The Reds • Denton, TX — is a garage band who released one album, "The Reds," in 2001.  This is the band that gets most confused with the Philadelphia Reds, because their album cover is very similar to the first album released by the Philadelphia Reds in 1979, also entitled, "The Reds."

The Reds • Tennessee — are a Christian hard rock band, with metal influences.  Band members: Anthony Armstrong – guitar, Randy Armstrong – bass, Michael Barnes – vocals, and Jasen Rauch – guitar.

Most important . . . if you are buying CD’s or downloads, make sure you’re buying The Reds
™ from Philadelphia.  All The Reds™ cover artwork can be viewed by clicking on the ALBUM COVER ARTWORK tab at the top of this page.
